Monday night is Movie Night

The West Hill RBL Club hosts a movie night every Monday.
Entry is FREE and we open at 7:00pm for a 7:30 start.
Your favourite movies are shown on a huge 107 inch Projector screen with amazing surround sound.

In 1968, Nurse Jean Purdy gets hired at the University of Cambridge for a lab manager post, by scientist Dr Robert Edwards. Together, they recruit innovative obstretician and surgeon Patrick Steptoe to join them in reproduction research, in an effort to combat infertility in women. Robert hopes to create a procedure which develops into in vitro fertilisation. Patrick reminds them that the government, church and everyone will oppose them.

The Last Bus

A heart-warming tale of Tom (Timothy Spall), a pensioner whose wife, Mary (Phyllis Logan), has just died, who travels from mainland Britain’s most northerly point, John O’Groats, to his original home town at England’s most westerly point, Land’s End (NOT its most southerly, as this is Lizard Point, some miles away), using his free bus pass. He carries with him only a small suitcase, travelling the length of the country with it. Along the way, his adventures are recorded by the people he meets and helps, and by the end of his trip he has unwittingly become a social media celebrity

David sells cars at his father’s dealership and, from time to time, visits his grandpa, Joe, at a retirement home. David’s a great salesman and he’s successful attracting women, one after another. Joe, meanwhile, misses his deceased wife and is done with life. David gives Joe advice on how to get women’s attention at the care center, and Joe gives David advice on how to find a lifelong companion. Each dismisses the other’s words, then tries them out – David with Julie, a woman he met playing football, and Joe with Edna and with Rose. Failures follow success. Can either figure out how to enjoy life and be themselves?

What happens after the happy ending? Sadly our Bridget knows all too well that life doesn’t always go to plan. Now in her 50s, she’s navigating life as a single mum after the death of her beloved husband Mark Darcy.
